The YMCA is a Christian charity committed to empower young people to build a brighter future. Our holistic practice, enabling people to live learn and share is rooted deep within the philosophy of mind, body and spirit and remains a key part of our organisation.
We are a local charity, affiliated to the national council of YMCAs in England and the World Alliance of YMCAs who seek to:
Unite those who, regarding Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour, according to the Holy Scriptures, desire to be his disciples in their faith and in their life, and associated their eff orts for the extension of his Kingdom. – YMCA Paris Basis 1855
Jesus Said: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). This is the ethos of our chaplaincy work: to provide safe spaces where our clients, young people and residents can be invited to participate in a journey with God.
YMCA Chaplaincy provides pastoral, emotional and spiritual support to staff, residents and anyone who has contact with Worcestershire YMCA. This care and support is open to all regardless of faith, background or circumstance and is confidential and non-judgemental. Our Chaplains seek to make Christ and His values present throughout the YMCA by listening to people, helping to answer questions, providing spiritual guidance, praying for people and leading in various ways throughout our communities.
If you are interested in joining our team, we would love to meet with you, get to know you and find out more about your desire to serve God as a chaplain in the YMCA.

Partnering with the Local Church:
One of our core objectives is to partner with the church to assist them in their mission to the local community. We are currently working with a number of congregations across Worcestershire to explore opportunities that develop services for young people that meet their needs, encourage their development and enable them to explore their own individual spirituality.
If you are a church leader and would like to get in touch please email James Williams our Christian Spiritual Development Co-ordinator.
