This month, staff, supporters and their families swapped their beds for cardboard boxes at Redditch United Football Club for Sleep Easy 2026.
Together, participants raised over £6,000 for young people facing homelessness in Worcestershire, and donations are still coming in! It was a real team effort from start to finish. From setting up and serving hot drinks to running activities and clearing a mountain of cardboard the next morning, everyone pitched in, and the mood stayed brilliant all night, even as the temperature dropped.
The night also gave everyone a small glimpse of what so many people face every night. Emily Brooks, said, “For the hour I spent trying to sleep, I felt a real sense of vulnerability, but I knew I was going home to a warm bed. For many people, the reality is very different.”
A big shout-out to Adam from Dandelion Video Productions, who captured the whole night on camera (and even slept on the floor himself!). Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers, who kept everyone safe and entertained throughout, if the cackling and intense game of Pictionary were anything to go by! And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who took part, shared fundraising pages, and donated!
Thank you to Thorlux Lighting to providing all the cardboard boxes for the event and having them delivered directly to Redditch United Football Club before the event.
