Symonne and Claire study at the University of Worcester and are currently working towards a Youth and Community degree. As part of their placement, they work within our support team  on a variety of different projects.

One of the main areas which Symonne and Claire work on is resident engagement programmes. Some of this includes employment workshops, sports activity or youth work promotion. Recently they have developed a number of our fundraising events including our Great YMCA Bake Off.

They have also taken part in training sessions and meetings allowing them to become a part of the YMCA team. YMCA gives our students the opportunity to meet academic outcomes, to gain experience and collect evidence of work. The connection between the university and YMCA allows them to use the knowledge they gain in lessons into practice.
