Squirrels Nursery, based within Willow Trees Community Centre in Redditch, is a warm, creative and inclusive early years setting, rated Good by Ofsted in 2024. Open 51 weeks a year, we provide flexible childcare and funded places for 2–4-year-olds in a stimulating environment that includes a sensory room, outdoor play area, safe sleep spaces and freshly prepared hot meals.

About the Role
We are looking for a caring and motivated Early Years Practitioner to deliver high-quality childcare and support children’s learning, development and independence.

Maintain excellent hygiene, safety and safeguarding standards.

We’re looking for passionate and dedicated Youth Workers to join our growing team at YMCA Worcestershire.
As a Youth Worker, you’ll help young people aged 8–15 build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential. Working in youth centres, schools, and community settings across Worcestershire, you’ll support sessions that are fun, engaging, and empowering — from sports and creative workshops to mentoring and outreach projects.
You’ll be part of a friendly, committed team making a real difference in young people’s lives.
Available Roles
1 x 5-hour role: Wednesdays and Fridays (evenings) across Wychavon district and Redditch.
1 x 2-hour role + 2 hours fortnightly: Wednesdays and alternate Fridays in Worcester.
1 x 2-hour role (fortnightly): Alternate Fridays in Worcester.
Additional hours during school holidays, events, and residentials may be available.
What You’ll Do
Co-plan and deliver youth sessions including games, workshops, arts, sports, and outdoor activities.
Build positive relationships with young people and act as a role model.
Mentor and support individuals, promoting confidence and inclusion.
Help set up and clear away equipment for sessions.
Support young people to respect and understand different backgrounds and beliefs.
Follow YMCA policies for safeguarding, health & safety, and equality.
What You’ll Need
Essential:
Level 2 in Youth Work (or willingness to work towards it).
Experience working directly with young people.
Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
Reliability and commitment to supporting young people’s wellbeing.
Desirable:
Level 2 Safeguarding training.
Experience working with young people with higher needs.
A background in sports, arts, or creative activities.
Full driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.
