Celebrating 40 Years of Dedication, Heart, and Community
This month we had the absolute joy of celebrating Sue Broughton, who has devoted an incredible 40 years to YMCA Worcestershire — and to keeping Willow Trees Community Centre running like clockwork through the good times and the bad.
Sue is, quite simply, the heart of Willow Trees — a pillar of strength, kindness, and calm who keeps everything (and everyone!) in order. She’s supported countless colleagues, families, and community members over the decades with her steady hand and generous spirit.
To honour her remarkable service, we’ve renamed one of our rooms “The Broughton Suite”, complete with a plaque for all to see.
The surprise unveiling was filled with smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears — joined by children from Squirrels Nursery, colleagues past and present, volunteers, and the local press (keep an eye out for Sue’s photo in the local paper! ).
Thank you, Sue, for everything you’ve given and continue to give to our YMCA family. Your compassion, dedication, and quiet leadership inspire us all every single day.
