What a magical day it was! In partnership with Church Hill Big Local, the this year’s Christmas Fair at Willow Trees Community Centre brought the community together in full festive spirit—and what a turnout!
Families and friends enjoyed a day packed with fun, laughter, and holiday cheer. Children enjoyed the teacups and pony rides, while the sweet sounds of the local school choir filled the air. From festive stalls and games to delicious food and warming refreshments, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And of course, Father Christmas himself made a special appearance, spreading joy and leaving little visitors with memories to treasure. But beyond all the fun, events like this are what make our community truly thrive. By coming together, sharing experiences, and supporting local initiatives, we’re not just celebrating the season—we’re strengthening connections, creating opportunities, and helping our neighbourhood grow and transform. We’re proud that Willow Trees Community Centre is a vibrant hub where people can meet, learn, and share experiences.
A huge thank you must go to the incredible volunteers who donated their valuable—and often very limited—time and energy to help set up, facilitate, and take down such a large-scale event. Simply put, it wouldn’t have happened without them.
Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun, we also raised over £500 for our residents, to help make their Christmas extra special and support projects that make a real difference in people’s lives. Every raffle ticket, every game played, and every smile shared contributes to the energy and spirit that make our YMCA such a special place – a shining reminder of what’s possible when we come together.
