Last month saw the YMCA buzzing with laughter, friendly rivalry, and the occasional cry of victory (or despair!) as we gathered for our Games Night — a fun-filled evening brilliantly organised by Dave Knatt and Jody Tabberner.
Colleagues, friends, and family came together to take part in a packed line-up of games including a brain-teasing quiz, Chubby Bunnies, Deal or No Deal, Higher or Lower, and Human Bingo. It was a night that had something for everyone — from quick thinking to pure silliness — and plenty of laughter in between!
There were many highlights throughout the evening. Nick from HR achieved legendary status with his victory in Chubby Bunnies, proving that a strong will (and impressive puffed-cheek capacity) can go a long way. One lucky team walked away proudly clutching a towering stack of biscuits, and the ‘HRctic Monkeys’ took first prize. Some teams impressed with their technical trivia expertise, while others shot up the leaderboard by showing off their detailed knowledge of the Aldi versions of popular chocolate bars — proof that all knowledge is valuable when prizes are on the line. And, of course, special mention goes to our brave Deal or No Deal players, with our deepest sympathies to those who traded their chocolate for a tin of tomatoes or kidney beans.
Thanks to the generosity of Tesco Redditch, we had an array of brilliant prizes to give away, adding an extra spark of excitement to the night. But beyond the games and the giggles, the evening had a heartfelt purpose — raising money to buy Christmas presents for our residents. Every laugh, cheer and quiz answer helped bring us one step closer to making this Christmas a little brighter for those we support.
A massive thank you to everyone who joined in, donated, and helped create such a fantastic atmosphere.
