28 April 2025

On 27th April, two incredible champions of YMCA Worcestershire, Nick Skett and Natalie Skillern, took on the iconic London Marathon to raise vital funds for our work with young people and vulnerable communities.

Together, they’ve raised a fantastic £2,086 for YMCA Worcestershire — and we couldn’t be prouder. What’s more, Nick has already committed to running again in 2026, proving his dedication to both his personal journey and our mission.

For Nick, this wasn’t just a race — it was the embodiment of a powerful transformation. Reflecting on the experience, he wrote:

“Running the marathon was surreal — not just because of the distance, but because of the journey it represents – a celebration of recovery and of the people who believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.”

Their incredible fundraising push is just one of many stepping stones as we work toward our new and ambitious fundraising target of £110,000 for the year ahead. Every penny raised helps continue to build an inclusive future, where everyone can reach their true potential.

👏 Nick and Natalie, we’re so incredibly proud of you — thank you for running not just for yourself, but for everyone still finding their way.
