“It’s been 8 years since I said yes to an opportunity, and what a whirlwind it’s been! Back in 2016, I signed up for NCS at my school, and after volunteering and working on the program, I became an NCS Apprentice and worked my way up. Now, while I’ve moved on to a full-time job focusing on youth and summer camps, I still run Redditch Youth Club and proudly represent YMCA Worcestershire as a Youth Ambassador, both nationally and internationally.

YMCA has given me amazing opportunities—hosting “raves” in the Peak District, delivering petitions to 10 Downing Street, doing the the YMCA dance weekly, and even flying to Athens to represent young people globally. No two days are the same with the YMCA!

I love what I do. Growing up in a single-parent household and losing a parent young taught me that saying yes to every opportunity is key. I genuinely care for my youth club members and thrive on their successes. November is busy for me! I’m in the Youth Matters Awards finals for Young Campaigner of the Year, and I’m honoured to have come this far.

To finish with my biggest passion; a reminder that young people are our future, let’s never forget that.”
