Celebrating the People Who Make YMCA Worcestershire Thrive
Colleagues from across YMCA Worcestershire came together for a special evening dedicated to celebrating the people who make our work possible. The YMCA Worcestershire Awards brought staff and volunteers from every corner of the county into one room, recognising the passion, dedication, and everyday commitment that drive our mission forward.
Throughout the evening, more than 30 awards were presented, shining a spotlight on achievements both big and small. From an incredible 30-year work anniversary, to colleagues who have recently gained new qualifications, to volunteers whose ongoing contribution continues to inspire us — each award told a story of individual effort and collective impact. It was wonderful to see so many people acknowledged for the difference they make every single day.
The atmosphere matched the occasion: great food, warm company, and a fantastic venue generously supported by Redditch United FC. Conversations flowed, teams mingled, and the room was filled with laughter as people reconnected and celebrated one another’s successes.
In true YMCA fashion, the night ended with the whole room on its feet dancing to “YMCA.” The sense of community, joy, and belonging was unmistakable — a powerful reminder of why events like this matter. They bring us together, strengthen our shared purpose, and honour the people at the heart of everything we do.
