YMCA Worcestershire has been supporting our local community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by providing food hampers to young people and families, activity packs to children who attend our nurseries and have been providing our traditional youth work and support services via online and digital methods. We have also maintained our supported accommodation services to vulnerable young people.
All housing projects remain open and we hope to continue to serve and support our residents and service users during this time. We regularly clean and sanitise our premises, and procedures are in place for those visiting our sites. Comprehensive plans are in place to support staff and service users, and these are regularly reviewed in line with the government’s advice and guidelines, including social distancing.
Early Years and Childcare
From the 1 June, our early years and childcare settings have started to welcome back children.
We have implemented measures in line with the latest government and NHS guidance to ensure the safety of your child and of our staff. Our facebook page will inform you of the latest information
Building Better Opportunities Employability
YMCA mentors across a range of projects continue to take on new referrals and are working on creative ways to keep vulnerable clients engaged; including phone, emails, training video links and zoom group calls.
During half term our youth teams have distributed 120 hampers made up of household staples and activities for children to families within Worcestershire.
In partnership with Redditch and Bromsgrove District Council and Oakland International these were delivered to the families of young people YMCA have worked with over the last year through our youth programmes.
